Wilson Defyer 98 Pro v1 tennis racket
Head size 632 cm², weight 305 g, and string pattern 16 × 20 provide more control, a sturdier feel, and reliable response on fast shots.
The most precise Defyer racket for seasoned players seeking heavy balls, strong spin, and perfect feel
Wilson Defyer 98 Pro V1 is a competition-oriented tennis racket from the new Wilson Defyer line, developed for players who want to dictate play with powerful, penetrating spin and stable control during fast exchanges.
The Defyer 98 Pro V1 model is the most demanding version in the Defyer family. Compared to the Defyer 100 model, it offers a smaller head, denser string pattern, and slightly greater weight, making it primarily intended for experienced players with solid technique, fast swings, and a clear desire for greater precision.
The head size 632 cm² or 98 in² provides more control and a more direct feel at impact. The string pattern 16 × 20 is the most precise in the Defyer line, while still enabling strong spin and aggressive play from the baseline.
Weight 305 g and balance 31.5 cm give the racket stability on hard contact, yet remain agile enough for quick preparation of the swing, counterattacks, and change of direction. This is a racket for players who want to push the opponent off balance with heavy pace and take control of the point.
The main technology of the racket is Torq Shaft Tech. The specially shaped racket throat improves stability, maneuverability, and the transfer of kinetic energy from the swing to the racket head. The result is faster shots, more ball action, and a more penetrating topspin.
For better aerodynamics, the Airfoil Bumper reduces air resistance around the racket head. The racket therefore moves through the air more quickly, helping to generate higher head speed and more effective spin.
Technologies SI3D, Dual Taper Beam, Parallel Drilling, DirectConnect, Click-and-Go and Elite Spec Control together create a stable, precise, and modern competitive racket for players who want maximum confidence on demanding strokes.
Wilson Defyer 98 Pro V1 is an excellent choice for experienced players who want a spin-oriented racket with more control than the 100 in² head models, but still enough power and tolerance for modern aggressive play.

👉 Compare Wilson Defyer models and choose the racket that best suits your style of play.
- Torq Shaft Tech uses a specifically designed neck that improves stability, steerability and energy transfer from the swing to the head of the racket. Helping the player create more speed, more powerful spin and a more piercing blow.
- Airfoil Bumper is an aerodynamically shaped bumper, that helps smoothly direct airflow around the head of the racket. Less resistance enables a faster swing and easier spin creation.
- SI3D enables a more deliberate three-dimensional flexing of the frame. a more flexible head improves interaction with the ball and playability, and a more stable rackets neck contributes to power and spin.
- Dual Taper Beam uses changeable frame height. That kind of design increases power, stability and tolerance, which is useful for hard exchanges at the base line..
- Parallel Drilling enables a more equal string surface response and increases optimal hit surface. Making the racket more tolerable and friendly at strikes outside its center.
- For DirectConnect technology, the carbon handle is directly connected to the end of the handle or the end cap. That betters the feel in hand and increases the rackets torzical stability.
- Click-and-Go is a bumper and grommets system, that offers easier exchange, a better fit and greater durability to the frames protective parts.
- Elite Spec Control means stricter control of the manufacturing tolerances. With that Wilson ensures more consistency between rackets, which is specifically important for players that use more of the same frames.
